Aside from delivering cost-effective energy, we’re passionate about transparency, customer-service, technology and the environment. We have a social conscience too.
We also support developers, body corporates, industrial projects, and residents within Community Energy Networks. Our extensive experience providing technology driven, environmentally friendly, energy efficient options save our customers money.

So, the merger was a natural progression to lay the foundation for us to be able to grow the business more efficiently, so we can achieve more for our customers Australia wide.

Our Team
Energy Locals is a team of people with plenty of experience in energy retailing and who want to see positive change. Meet the team behind the dream.
The company was founded in 2016 by Adrian Merrick, who has a decade and a half of experience in running energy retail operations. Having worked for large energy companies, Adrian had a strong desire to use his experience to make energy cheaper, cleaner and fairer. In 2021, Energy Locals merged with Energy Trade under the Energy Locals brand.
Across the Energy Locals team, we bring experience from at least five different energy retailers, a regulator, an energy consultancy and two outsourced service providers in the energy industry.
